I focus on panoramic vistas and receding perspectives with a sense of depth and movement and I push these elements to draw the viewer into the painting. The fleeting nature of light and clouds become dramatic subjects in my work." | ![]() Mandy Main: Encaustic Taken on: January 1, 2011 (Rancho Mirage, California)Visit Mandy's Website "I paint luminous oil paintings of the Western landscape, informed by nature and capturing a personal sense of place rather than an exact representation. ![]() Edna Cantoral: Book Arts & Music Taken on: January 1, 2011 (Guadalajara, Mexico) Visit Edna's WebsiteI am interested in searching an honest way to discover who I am. Creating is for me a process of transformation and mystery. I like to experience and to explore different means, such as painting, engraving, literature, and recently, thanks to the Galeria Ajolote (Axolotl Gallery), silk-screen printing. One of the many phrases which remind me of the deepest sense of my journey through life, and which has accompanied me throughout, is this by W. B. Yeats: “I’m looking for the face I had before the world was made”. Each painting contains memories and histories, spirituality, personal growth and positive energy. I rely on my feelings and intuition to allow each painting to evolve." |
![]() Pam Nichols: Encaustic Taken on: January 1, 2011 (Tigard, OR) Visit Pam's Website "My passion in art comes from nature and the energy of ordinary things. Letting the energy just flow, not thinking about what will happen, just letting it be, allows it to grow. I usually start with a color and within it I see what it wants to become. My work is always changing, which is so much like myself. I love going into thrift stores, rebuilding centers and looking at objects that inspire new ideas and creations." | ![]() Ofer MizraChi Taken on: January 1, 2011 Photography (Israel) Visit Ofer's Website"Ofer MizraChi From Near Jerusalem Project Take the emotion,Through the nature around Jerusalem, Happy To Share This Journey With You. But on this hot summer day I positioned my card table between the tennis courts and the beach club. Soon, a steady stream of women in swimsuits or tennis gear stopped to view the hand-made jewelry I was displaying. More important than the $250 I made that afternoon were the sincere comments of appreciation for my creative work. Every piece was different — and I sold every one. I was only eleven years old but I had a real passion for art and jewelry. Ever since, I have been creating colorful, unique pieces using semi-precious stones and gems. My customers love knowing that I never make the same piece twice. Even while at the University of Texas at Austin, I continued to make jewelry, inspired by courses that were part of my degree in Art History. I was particularly attracted to Byzantine, Meso-American, and African art and jewelry. Today, in addition to creating bold pieces tailored to the individual, I have also found a niche creating unique but complimentary sets of necklaces, bracelets, and earrings for brides and bridesmaids. I promise you unique pieces that say you’re a special person with a keen eye!" |
